OUTLOOK
La Quinta should have more experience than most teams in the league--Perry returns eight letterman, including three starters. Forward Doane (11 points, seven rebounds) could be the best of the three returners. “He’s a real, aggressive, competitive kid,” Perry said. “I think he’s going to surprise some people. He plays so hard and he’s in such great physical condition. He’s just tireless.” Perry says Snyder, a two-year starter at point guard, has also matured: “He’s improved his decision-making in the open court and his range.” Greenfield, the other returning starter, will play forward. “We’ll expect a lot from Greg,” Perry said. “He’s improved his scoring consistency and he’s taking the ball to the basket better.” La Quinta isn’t real big, so Perry said his team will probably play an up-tempo style. “We’ll press a little bit more and we’ll continue to rely on our man defense,” he said. “We’ll try to spread guys out and take advantage of our quickness.”
