OUTLOOK
Chapman, who is now baseball coach and a teacher at Aliso Niguel, agreed to stay a final season as the Dolphins’ coach. Dana Hills has been known for its aggressive pressure defense, but the Dolphins will have to back off a bit because their usual depth isn’t there. “We don’t have that luxury as much this year,” Chapman said. “We’re still going to play very hard defense, but we’re going to do some things fundamentally different.” Dana Hills’ depth was hurt further when returning player Megan McKenna tore the anterior cruciate ligament in a knee on the first day of practice. But Chapman believes the team will still be competitive. He says Grossman, a second-team all-league pick, is one of the best players in the league. Zuniga, the team’s spark-plug point guard, brings a lot of enthusiasm, and Kochendorfer should take some of the scoring burden off Grossman. Chapman says many players have improved greatly. “I think we have a chance to be successful because they have the ability to play very hard,” he said.
