Firms Join to Lay Base for Information Highway: Twenty-eight companies--including AT&T;, IBM and Microsoft--said they have formed a multi-industry coalition to make sure the technical components of the nation’s information superhighway mesh into a seamless system. The Cross-Industry Working Team will recommend the technical and architectural requirements for the National Information Infrastructure as a step toward the superhighway to exchange data in fields from education to industry.
