What do Tallulah Bankhead, Dwight Eisenhower and some members of Bill Clinton’s Administration have in common? At one time or another, all have called Adams Morgan--the funky Washington, D.C., neighborhood--home.

Now for those wanting a peek at the area’s Victorian past--and its polyglot present--guidebook author Anthony Pitch is leading free, two-hour walking tours.

“I point out where famous people live, and lived,” Pitch says, “and where scenes from ‘A Few Good Men’ and ‘In the Line of Fire’ were filmed.” He also tells anecdotes about other noteworthy residents.

The tour begins each Sunday at 11 a.m., weather permitting. It concludes at what Pitch calls “the ethnic restaurant capital of the world,” where Salvadoran, Ethiopian and South American eateries abound. Reservations are required: (301) 294-9514.
