Birtcher Construction Ltd. of Laguna Niguel has begun construction on a project with a divine purpose--the $3.2-million Cardinal Timothy Manning House of Prayer for Priests in Los Angeles.
The 15,000-square-foot hillside retreat will consist of two buildings: a multipurpose building with a chapel and a 16-bed dormitory. Expected to be completed next December, the building is being developed for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Projects with a religious nature are not new for Birtcher. The company has completed such projects in Temecula and Woodland Hills and is currently working on the Padre Serra Parish church and meeting room in Camarillo.
