Sylmar Is a Good Place for Academy

* Contrary to Patricia Cane’s opinion regarding the proposed site for a police academy in Sylmar (Dec. 5), most residents and merchants in Sylmar would welcome the Los Angeles Police Department with open arms. With crime, graffiti and drug use on the rise, Sylmar needs and wants the LAPD.
I hope the city will not be swayed by a handful of residents who oppose the site. Sylmar is the perfect place for the academy.
