AUGUST 9 -- 20th anniversary of the resignation of Richard Nixon. 24 -- Mexican general election. 30 -- Deadline for withdrawal of last Russian forces from eastern Germany.
SEPTEMBER No exact date -- Official departure of last U.S., British and French forces from Berlin, leaving the German capital with no foreign military presence for the first time since 1945.
OCTOBER 3 -- First round of Brazilian general elections.
NOVEMBER 9 -- Fifth anniversary of the collapse of the Berlin Wall.
DECEMBER 3 -- 10th anniversary of Bhopal, India, gas-leak disaster.
