Chung Il Kwon, 77, former prime minister of South Korea. A retired four-star general, Chung served as general commander for South Korea during the 1950-53 Korean War. In the 1960s and 1970s, he served as ambassador to the United States, as foreign minister and as prime minister under the late military strongman Park Chung Hee. Chung was also a national assemblyman and house Speaker. On Monday in Honolulu of cancer.
