Pacific Enterprises Profits Rise: Pacific Enterprises reported sharply higher fourth-quarter earnings. For the quarter ended Dec. 31, the company posted net income of $47 million, or 52 cents a share, compared to a year earlier, when it reported a loss of $1 million, or 7 cents a share, including results from the company’s two former major non-utility businesses, which have been sold. Revenue fell to $825 million from $875 million for the fourth quarter of 1992. Earnings from Pacific Enterprises’ principal subsidiary, Southern California Gas Co., declined slightly, although the utility earned its authorized rate of return for the 11th consecutive year.
