America West Cuts Some Fares: The airline reduced leisure fares by up to one-third for travel through May 15. The sale, which ends Feb. 22, was matched by American, United and other major airlines on competing routes. The limited supply of non-refundable tickets must be purchased seven days in advance and requires a Saturday night stay. The largest discounts apply to travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Meanwhile, Trans World Airlines said travelers will earn triple frequent-flier miles on TWA flights through April 30.
