Derrick Walsh

Saddleback, So.
Basketball / Guard
Walsh, from Dana Hills High School, is often overlooked because of the scoring exploits of teammate Tes Whitlock and the rebounding of Antoine Jefferson. But Walsh has made key contributions all season for Saddleback, which has a one-game lead in the Orange Empire Conference race. He scored 18 points and got five rebounds as the Gauchos beat Riverside, 73-68, last Wednesday to take sole possession of first place. His three-pointer with about three minutes left gave the Gauchos a 67-64 lead.
Other notables:
* Jim Falletta of Cypress averaged 10 points, nine rebounds and 5.5 assists as the Chargers won twice.
