Pacific Sunwear Posts 10% Drop in Profit

Pacific Sunwear of California Inc., an Anaheim young men’s apparel retailer, reported a 10% decline in profit for fiscal 1993, to $2.7 million, or 53 cents a share, from $3 million, or 90 cents a share. Sales for the year ended Jan. 31 were up 20%, to $54.9 million from $45.8 million. Fourth-quarter profit totaled $902,000, or 17 cents a share, 4% lower than the $940,000, or 27 cents a share, recorded for the like period a year earlier. Quarterly sales rose 25%, to $17 million.
