RANCHO CIENEGA : Recreation Center to Hold Swim-a-Thon

The Martin Luther King Jr. Adaptive Recreation Center is sponsoring its annual Adaptive Swim-a-Thon from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Rancho Cienega Pool, 5001 Rodeo Road.
The event is open to anyone 7 or older, and swim teams and other swimming organizations are encouraged to participate. Swimmers must be sponsored for at least 10 cents a lap, or for a flat fee.
All proceeds will go toward acquiring materials, equipment and instructors for the adaptive recreation center, one of three centers within the city Recreation and Parks Department that serve the disabled. The Martin Luther King Jr. center is at 3934 Western Ave.
