CORONA DEL MAR — After worried neighbors summoned police, a 76-year-old woman was found dead with head injuries in her home Saturday.
Investigators are still trying to determine exactly how Frances M. Van Uden died, but police said it appeared her death was not accidental and that she had an injury to the back of her head.
Neighbors who had not seen her for two days called police to check her house on Keel Drive. When police arrived they found a rear sliding door unlocked and Uden slumped on a couch.
On Saturday, investigators and patrol officers canvassed the neighborhood for information. The coroner’s office is still investigating the cause of death, police said.
