Don’t Miss Middle East

Regarding the Feb. 13 issue on travel in the Middle East:
I am a mature woman who has traveled to Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Israel during the last 10 years. English is my only language and I am somewhat shy, but usually travel alone or with another woman. Public transportation, inexpensive lodgings and a flexible agenda are typical of my trips.
I found Middle Eastern people friendly and helpful well beyond my expectations. I was respected and well cared for. I recommend travel in that part of the world--it is neither daunting nor unsafe.
