Showers and Hail Pepper the County

A slow-moving cold front on Sunday dampened some areas of Orange County with showers and sporadic hail.
The showers began early in the morning, and, shortly before noon, residents reported that pea-sized hail had peppered parts of Orange and Santa Ana for about 10 minutes. The rain stopped in the evening.
El Toro, with .29 inch, recorded the most rainfall in the county. Anaheim received .16 inch, Santa Ana .14, San Juan Capistrano .12, and Newport Beach .10.
No major incidents were triggered by the rain, authorities said.
Bruce Thoren, a meteorologist with WeatherData, which provides forecasts for The Times, said the same Arctic storm system that prompted Sunday’s precipitation might also bring scattered showers today. Highs today were expected to be in the 60s.
