Datametrics Corp., a Chatsworth maker of printers and other computer products, said it lost $242,000 in its fiscal first quarter that ended Jan. 30 because of problems related to the Northridge earthquake.
Sidney E. Wing, Datametrics’ president and chief executive, said the company’s results suffered because it lost potential sales after the earthquake disrupted its operations.
A year earlier, the company earned $1.19 million, which included a onetime tax benefit of $938,000.
Revenue in the first quarter rose 6%, from $5.32 million to $5.63 million.
