Made by “Sweetie” and “The Piano’s” iconoclastic Jane Campion, this remarkable 1990 release is an amazing biography of Janet Frame, New Zealand’s most celebrated novelist and poet whose struggles as an artist are intensified by her long ordeal as an incorrectly diagnosed schizophrenic. It stars Kerry Fox in a portrayal that is both heroic and profoundly illuminating. Karen Fergusson (center) plays Frame as a child (Bravo Friday at 6 p.m.).
