TUSTIN : School Group Hopes to Conjure Funds

An educational group at Foothill High School hopes to bring some magic to its fund-raising efforts this year.
“Create the Magic” is the theme of a dinner and auction the Foothill Education Fund is sponsoring Saturday at the Tustin Ranch Golf Course, 12442 Tustin Ranch Road. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.
“Many Foothill classrooms still lack the necessary ingredients . . . to create a high school that will truly prepare our children for the 21st Century,” said Carol Hay, the event coordinator. The school is part of the Tustin Unified School District.
Hay said the money raised will be spent on equipment such as video cameras, lasers for precision measurement and special calculators for the school’s science and technology programs.
At the auction, participants can bid on sports tickets, golf and tennis lessons, beauty services, dinners and a weekend vacation.
Tickets are $25 per person, Hay said.
