COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Rancho Santiago’s Sneddon Picks Up His 400th Victory

Rancho Santiago baseball Coach Don Sneddon got his 400th victory when the Dons defeated Orange Coast, 7-6, in 11 innings Thursday.
Sneddon’s record in 13 seasons is 400-138-1.
Daryle Ward singled in Brian Carlson in the bottom of 11th inning for the victory.
Steve Rewald struck out three and didn’t give up a run in 6 2/3 innings in relief and Randy Wilson pitched the 11th to earn his third victory for the Dons (17-5, 5-3).
In other Orange Empire Conference baseball:
Golden West 9, Fullerton 3--Dustin Martin’s inside-the-park two-run home run gave host Golden West (8-11, 2-6) the lead for good in the third inning.
Adam Hoyman and Shawn Albee held Fullerton (10-9-1, 4-4) to four hits, with Hoyman picking up his fifth victory and Albee getting his first save.
For Golden West, Erickson Dumaual had two hits, including a double and one RBI.
In Orange Empire Conference women’s tennis:
Fullerton 7, Irvine Valley 2--No. 2 singles player Luary Smude won her match, 6-0, 6-2, to help keep Fullerton (8-1, 6-1) in second place behind Orange Coast.
