Appeal of Prudential Settlement Dropped: The lawyer for two investors dropped the appeal of a class-action settlement involving Prudential Securities’ Energy Income Funds limited partnerships, removing the last hurdle for $90.7 million to be divided among about 114,000 former Prudential customers who participated in the suit. Attorney Stuart C. Goldberg, who said the settlement was grossly inadequate, unsuccessfully sought support for the appeal from state securities regulators.
