HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Tuimoloau Improves Her Shotput Mark

Dolores Tuimoloau of Channel Islands High improved her region record in the shotput to 48 feet 10 inches and Damon Blechen of Agoura set school marks in the boys’ shotput and discus in the inaugural Ventura County Relays at Channel Islands High on Saturday.
Tuimoloau’s effort improved on her previous best of 47-0 1/4 set in the Mt. San Antonio College Relays a week ago.
She also won the discus with a throw of 133-5.
Blechen won the shotput and discus with marks of 55-7 and 160-6.
BASEBALL
Alemany 7, Chaminade 5--Designated hitter Alex Peran capped a six-run seventh inning by belting a two-out two-run homer, giving the Indians (15-6, 6-2) a come-from-behind Mission League victory.
Freshman outfielder Bill Scott began the fireworks with a two-run homer and later in the inning Robbie Rehfield drove in two runs with a single to tie the score, 5-5.
St. Bernard 10, Harvard-Westlake 4--Jose Rosales had three hits and four RBIs to lead St. Bernard to a Mission League victory.
Dan Mason had two hits and an RBI for Harvard-Westlake (11-10, 2-6).
SOFTBALL
Simi Valley 18, Santa Barbara 0--Simi Valley (15-1) had 14 hits in the Pioneers’ second game of the Thousand Oaks tournament. Jessica Cunningham and Tracy Hanson each had three hits and Sara Griffin added four RBIs on two hits.
Simi Valley defeated Taft, 4-0, earlier as Griffin pitched a one-hitter and struck out 15.
Crescenta Valley 2, El Segundo 1--Stephanie Labor hit a two-run single in the seventh inning to give the Falcons (16-2) a victory in the consolation final of the El Segundo tournament. Earlier, Crescenta Valley scored all its runs in the final three at-bats to defeat St. Bernard, 11-0, behind Danielle Robertshaw.
