CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man who tried to rob a bank sued it from jail for $15 million, saying the bank had inflated its estimate of the amount of money it didn’t lose.
Amil Dinsio, 58, who along with relatives tried to break into United Carolina Bank two years ago by hacking a hole in the roof, sued the bank in federal court, according to Friday’s edition of The Charlotte Observer.
Speaking from jail in Loretto, Pa., Dinsio called the $15 million “just a figure,” the paper said. “It’s what you do in lawsuits. I’d be happy with a couple of million.”
