Camera Platforms International Inc., a Valencia maker and leaseholder of production equipment for the film and television industries, reported a first-quarter loss of $413,000 compared with a loss of $524,000 a year earlier.
For the quarter ended March 31, the company’s revenue nearly doubled, to $973,000 from $504,000 in the same quarter a year earlier, due to revenue from its acquisition of Shotmaker Dollies & Cranes Inc. last year.
Camera Platforms also said sales of its Lightmaker product increased. However, the company’s expenses rose in the latest quarter, especially its cost of rentals.
