The sixth annual Chicano Music Awards will return to the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Saturday to raise funds for the Quetzalcoatl Memorial Scholarship.
The awards show is sponsored by Sancho, deejay of the “Sancho Show” on Pasadena City College’s radio station, KPCC.
The show will feature a broad range of Chicano music--from Latin jazz to mariachis--and aims to top last year’s nearly $70,000 raised for the scholarship fund. Scholarships are given to Chicano students with a proven academic record and a commitment to serve their communities after college, the station said.
