Garner Leads Boys, Lee is Second Girl

Ben Garner of Lake Forest shot a six-under-par 65 Saturday to take a two-stroke lead after the first round of the Ping Phoenix Junior Championships at Arizona State’s Karsten Golf Course.
Josh Levin of San Francisco was second at 67. Jeff McGraw of Fullerton was the next closest Orange County golfer at 73.
In the girls’ competition, county golfers held three of the top five spots after the first round. Fullerton’s Jenny Lee was second at 70, one shot behind Grace Park of Phoenix.
