From Los Angeles to New York, thousands of people mourned AIDS victims Sunday and raised money for research in charity walks and candlelight vigils nationwide.
Organizers of the 11th International AIDS Candlelight Memorial and Mobilization, based in San Francisco, said events took place in 243 cities worldwide, and for the first time, in every state.
Activists from more than 25 organizations marched through Hollywood, carrying candles and chanting, “Two, four, six, eight, we want a cure, we can’t wait.”
