FULLERTON : Volunteers Sought to Place Crosses, Flags
- Share via
Volunteers are being sought to place more than 3,000 crosses and flags on veterans’ graves at Loma Vista Memorial Park on Saturday.
Cemetery officials are encouraging anyone who wants to help to bring wheelbarrows, wagons or carts to carry the crosses and flags around the grounds. The religious and patriotic emblems will stay on the graves until Memorial Day, when the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers will give a program in tribute to the nation’s military dead.
The free program begins at 10 a.m. and volunteers will be needed to pick up the flags and crosses afterward.
Then, on June 1, more volunteers are being sought to iron the flags at the Buena Park Elks Lodge, 7212 Melrose Ave.
