Herb Hill, Orange County’s second-winningest high school football coach, said he has accepted the coaching position at San Jacinto High School.
Hill was 191-11-11 during his 31 years as a coach, 28 years at Loara and three at Rancho Alamitos. He retired after the 1989 season.
Dick Hill is the county’s winningest coach, with a record of 196-87-3. He was recently hired to coach at Orange.
Herb Hill takes over a program that has won only one game in the last three seasons. He also will teach two physical education classes at the school.
“They needed somebody who could help coach their coaches and I live in San Jacinto,” said Hill, who is 63. “And, to tell you the truth, I missed coaching.”
