Free Disposal Offered for Hazardous Waste
- Share via
Residents can dispose of used motor oil, paints, cleaners, pesticides, car batteries and other household hazardous waste for free at Veterans Stadium, 5000 Lew Davis St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 4.
Because such waste can pollute ground and ocean water, disposing of it in trash cans, sewers and storm drains is illegal, officials said.
There is no limit to how much waste will be accepted, as long as it comes from residents’ households. No waste generated by businesses will be accepted.
The roundup is sponsored by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works and the County Sanitation Districts.
