SIMI VALLEY : City OKs Shutting Dump on Sundays
- Share via
Citing low patronage, the Simi Valley City Council has approved a plan to shut the city’s landfill on most Sundays.
Under the plan--recommended by staff from Ventura County and the cities of Simi Valley, Moorpark and Thousand Oaks--the landfill would be open Mondays through Saturdays, and the third Sunday of each month.
In addition, the dump must be open two other Sundays each year under the agreement reached with landfill operator Waste Management.
The plan must receive final approval from the Board of Supervisors before going into effect. The board is scheduled to consider the matter in the next month.
