Monday is Independence Day, the 218th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Monday is observed as a federal holiday. Closed Monday: All government offices, courts, banks, post offices, stock and commodity exchanges, libraries and many businesses. MTA buses will follow Sunday schedules.
