PACOIMA : Man Found Stabbed to Death at Motel

Police are investigating the stabbing death of a 31-year-old Pacoima man whose body was found early Friday at a Pacoima motel, authorities said.
A manager at Las Palmas Motel who had heard gunshots called police at about 3:30 a.m., said Detective Frank Bishop of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division.
Officers responding to the scene discovered the body of Derick Pinks, who had been stabbed “more than once” in the upper torso, Bishop said.
Witnesses later told police they saw two men speed off in a beige, foreign-made pickup truck just after they heard gunshots, Bishop said.
Bishop said no motive has been established. Police are looking for the man who rented the motel room where Pinks was found.
