Brown Leads Way at Diving Event

MISSION VIEJO — Summer Brown broke the meet record she set last year in the one-meter competition Friday, the first day of the Southern California Diving Invitational at the Marguerite Swimming Complex.
Brown, representing the Mission Viejo Nadadores, scored 391.35 points in one-meter diving for 16- to 18-year-old division. Sandy Zubrin, last year’s overall winner, was second with 387.15.
In the 12-13 division, the Nadadores’ Erica Sorgi, who set four meet records last year, finished first with 297.85 points in one-meter diving. Teammate Kristin Marguis was second with 289.40.
In boys’ 16-18 one-meter diving, Tyce Rouston of Mission Viejo finished Friday’s competition with 455.60 points. Tustin Dumas of Rose Bowl is first with 482.75 points.
Competition continues at 9 a.m. today in one- and three-meter diving.
