How wonderful to see the Pagets off once again (“Postcards From Paradise”)! Two years ago, I turned to each week’s installment of their trip across country first as I flipped through the Sunday Times. Now, what a treat to visit Hawaii through their eyes!

Having vacationed in Hilo, Hawaii, (I find) the Pagets’ travels bring back many happy memories, along with some unusual and interesting ones: Craving the delicious coffee bean candy and ending up with a good case of “java jitters” for two days was an interesting experience not to be repeated. Next time, we’ll limit ourselves to one handful. And then there are the rains that keep everything clean and bright and explain the burst of blossoms everywhere, permeating the air with warm sweet fragrances. I’m grateful to the Pagets for helping me recall these memories.
