Saluting Role Models
I was proud to read the coverage about the students of Cal Lutheran University and the work they are doing in the Mini Corps program (“Fields of Study,” June 28). Times like these ask for a new generation of mentors and role models to be there for all our children.
With the politics of immigration and the media wave surrounding it, it can be easy for us to forget about our future generations. No matter what side or view we take on the issue of immigration, we have to remember that our children, both legal and illegal, are waiting for us to teach them by example the goodness we can do for ourselves and for each other.
Putting all debate, labels, analysis, argument and opinion aside, the small children wait with their books. Much thanks is due to these young mentors and role models, the ones who have not forgotten them.
