Free sailing classes began this week for low-income people with disabilities.
The Los Angeles City Office on Disability granted Sea Legs Adaptive Sailing $30,000 to conduct the sailing program until Aug. 31.
The program teaches people with disabilities how to sail in specially designed boats, said Tom Kruesopon, spokesman for Councilman Rudy Svorinich Jr. Available to children and adults, the program is recreational and therapeutic, Kruesopon said.
