SOUTHEAST L.A. COUNTY : Four Suspects Arrested in Freeway Graffiti War
- Share via
A dawn raid of several homes in Southeast Los Angeles County ended Wednesday with the arrest of a woman and three teen-agers suspected of participating in a mid-May graffiti war along the Long Beach Freeway.
Last month, police arrested eight suspects in connection with the freeway battle, which caused nearly $100,000 in damages. As many as 60 suspected taggers may be charged before the case is completed, said Long Beach Police Officer Barry Fowks, who along with his brother and partner, Officer Bob Fowks, is heading the multi-agency investigation.
Arrested Wednesday were Jeremy Hampton and Shawn Allen Scarborough, both 18, and Jennifer Dean, 21, all of La Mirada, and a 17-year-old Whittier boy whose name was withheld because of his age.
The four are scheduled for arraignment today in Long Beach. They face charges of conspiracy and graffiti vandalism.
