Times staff writer David W. Myers catches up with former Dodgers and Angels
Zahn made his debut with the Dodgers in 1973, but the left-hander was traded to the Chicago Cubs two years later in the deal that brought Burt Hooton to Los Angeles. The Angels signed him as a free agent in 1981, and his 18-8 record the next season helped the club win the American League West. Zahn retired in 1985 with an 111-109 record.
Zahn, 48, an assistant baseball coach at Pepperdine, lives with his wife and daughter in the Santa Clarita Valley.
