KURT REMEMBERED: Courtney Love is paying tribute to her late husband, Kurt Cobain, in the upcoming video for her band Hole’s song “Doll Parts,” casting a slight, blond boy to play the young Kurt.

In the video, directed by Samuel Bay, who also did Nirvana’s breakthrough “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” Love will be seen singing on a big, ornate bed while the boy darts in and out of shadows surrounding the scene. Thoughout, Love tries to reach to the boy, but he remains elusive. At the end, though, she finally makes contact and cradles him in her arms.

A source close to the project says there had been some initial concern that the imagery would be exploitative of Cobain’s suicide, but that the results are in fact quite “touching.”
