NEWPORT BEACH : Future of El Toro Base to Be Debated

Speak Up Newport will host a debate Wednesday on the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station transition to civilian use and proposals to build a commercial airport there.
The community forum will conduct its general membership meeting at 5:30 p.m., followed by the 6:15 p.m. debate. The event is scheduled to include two speakers against and two in favor of the airport plan.
