Two men were fatally shot and a third man was seriously wounded in an attack at 47th Street and Western Avenue in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Officials said the victims, whose names and ages were not released, were shot between 2 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. The motive for the shootings remained unknown Wednesday afternoon and there were no suspects, officials said.
LAPD Lt. Faryl Fletcher said one victim was pronounced dead at the scene, another was pronounced dead at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital and the third was believed to be undergoing surgery at Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital. All three men apparently suffered head wounds, Fletcher said.
Officials said there may have been more than one assailant. “It does not appear at this time to be a drive-by,” Fletcher said.
