NORTH HILLS — Quarterback Brian MacLean passed for 197 yards and four touchdowns and sparked a 29-point second quarter as Granada Hills High rolled to a 49-13 victory Friday night over Monroe.
MacLean connected on 12 of 16 passes, including a 13-yard touchdown toss to Eric Carpenter that gave the Highlanders a 21-7 lead in the second period.
Running back Eric Richardson pitched in with two touchdown runs--both in the second quarter--and finished with 43 yards in seven carries.
Carpenter finished with seven catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns.
Richardson’s one-yard scoring run, followed by his reception on the ensuing two-point conversion, capped a seven-play, 70-yard drive and gave the Highlanders a 14-7 lead in the first period.
Late in the third period, a toddler fell approximately 20 feet from the top of the bleachers. He was rushed to Northridge Hospital because of multiple head injuries.
