California Amplifier, the Camarillo-based maker of equipment for beaming television signals, said its profit for the second quarter that ended Aug. 27 was $550,000, up slightly from $544,000 for the same period last year.
Revenues for the quarter were $11.32 million, up 11% from $10.18 million last year.
For the six months, California Amplifier’s profit fell 12% to $956,000 from $1.08 million for the first six months a year prior. The slip was on a 20% gain in revenue to $22.51 million from $18.76 million last year.
The company attributed these results to a $611,000 increase in research and development spending over the six months aimed at broadening its product line in wireless cable technology.
