HITTING THE MARK

Frankly, I too was surprised that you printed my letter two weeks ago in response to “Natural Born Killers,” but I can’t deny the fact that I appreciated the opportunity to express myself in this kind of forum.
I have obviously made some people angry (Letters, Sept. 11). Well, good. I am angry too!
African Americans (especially black males) have been labeled every negative thing from A to Z. These angry individuals are just getting a small taste of what black people have been strangled with for over 400 years.
Maybe these individuals will be able to appreciate the black person’s position just a little bit because, when it’s all said and done, no one likes to be called something they are not and no one wants to be lumped in a group when we are all individuals.
