PREP ROUNDUP : Smith, Servite Upset Foothill in Water Polo

Jerry Smith scored six goals and Bill Howard added three to lead Servite, the fourth-ranked water polo team in Orange County, to an 11-8 upset victory over second-ranked Foothill in a South Coast Tournament quarterfinal Friday at Tustin High.
Servite went ahead, 4-3, at the half and never trailed. Goalkeeper Trevor Dallas had 13 saves for the Friars (7-1). Brian Brown scored four for Foothill (4-2).
In other quarterfinal games:
Corona del Mar 13, Villa Park 5--Third-ranked Corona del Mar overpowered seventh-ranked Villa Park with its tight defense, allowing Villa Park 13 shots. Neil Hueston had four goals for Corona del Mar (3-1).
Long Beach Wilson 12, Newport Harbor 6--Gabe Wyatt scored five goals and Graham Harvey recorded six saves for Newport Harbor (2-3).
In quarterfinals of the Rowland Heights Rowland tournament:
Brea-Olinda 9, San Bernardino 6--Tad Murphy had six goals to lead fifth-ranked Brea-Olinda (6-0). Eric Matthews added two goals and Tim Bischel had 10 saves for the Wildcats.
El Dorado 9, Magnolia 2--Kendall Benson scored six goals for El Dorado (2-2). Benson also scored the winning goal in overtime in a second-round victory over Cerritos.
In nonleague water polo:
Saddleback 12, Estancia 11--Senior Bret Trezise scored nine goals for Saddleback, including the game-winner with 10 seconds left. Trezise has 57 goals this season for Saddleback (6-2).
In nonleague girls’ volleyball:
Newport Harbor 3, Dana Hills 0--Melissa Schutz had 20 kills and Sara Fairborn had 14 for host Newport Harbor (8-0), ranked No. 1 in the county. Eighth-ranked Dana Hills is 9-2.
