RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA : 4 Incumbents on School Boards Backed
- Share via
The political action committee of the South Orange County Chambers of Commerce has endorsed the four incumbents running for reelection to the boards of the Saddleback Valley Unified School and Capistrano Unified School districts.
The incumbents are Dore J. Gilbert and Bobbee Cline in Saddleback Valley, and Annette B. Gude and Crystal Kochendorfer in Capistrano Unified.
The school board endorsements are the first made by the organization in nearly a decade.
Mark Gaughan, chair of the group’s candidate selection process, said the school board incumbents drew the support of business leaders because of their concern over challengers, some of whom are accused of holding views supported by the religious right. Such challengers have denied the characterization.
The South Orange County Chambers of Commerce PAC represents individual chambers of commerce in Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo and Rancho Santa Margarita.
