The city’s Redevelopment Agency has unanimously approved a developer’s plan to build 22 single-family homes on land at the southeast corner of Alta Vista Drive and Central Avenue, next to the Alta Vista Country Club.
Development Director Joyce Rosenthal said homes in the project, to be built by Huennekens, Quinn & Talcott, are larger than those originally proposed for another site. It will feature Mediterranean-style homes, half of which will have views of the Alta Vista golf course.
The new homes will complete a neighborhood that will include another 44 homes under construction by another developer. The completed neighborhood will extend south from Alta Vista Street to Chapman Avenue.
