So you think your electric bill is high?
The Irvine Unified School District paid $2.4 million for electricity during the 1993-94 school year to operate 30 schools, as well as district offices and other facilities.
Total utility costs added up to $3.2 million, including a $391,049 phone bill, $287,782 for water and $100,440 for natural gas.
Overall, utility bills in the district rose by 4% compared to the 1992-93 school year. How utility costs compared for 1993-94:

The Newport Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce will have its 10th Annual Business and Health Exposition at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.
Organizers said the event will be an opportunity for local businesses to show off their products and services in a relaxed environment that will include live entertainment, drinks and food.
