Pierce College is planning a seminar to help guide students through the often confusing process of transferring to four-year schools.
Representatives from 65 colleges and universities will visit the school Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to offer advice, said Roger Brown, co-director of Pierce College’s Career Transfer Center.
“There is often a lot of anxiety on the part of the students because there are so many schools out there,” he said. “There are so many choices, it can really get confusing at times.”
College and University Day will be held on the mall outside the Campus Center of the Woodland Hills campus, 6201 Winnetka Ave.
Many of the schools also will send representatives who can answer questions about applying for financial aid, Brown said. For information about the seminar call (818) 719-6440.
Brown said that more schools are sending representatives this year, probably because they have increased their recruiting efforts to bring in more revenues to help ease budget constraints.
